Ordered take-out from Umberto's on a Saturday night- easy to order, helpful staff over the phone and food was ready on time. Food: 1 Veggie pie- Good flavor in the sauce and veggies were well cooked. It's a good option but not my favorite option there. 1 Grandma pie- My in-laws come from Vermont to visit us and we always have to get a grandma pie from Umberto's. It's good every time. 2 vodka slices- This is my favorite of the pizzas at Umberto's and my favorite vodka slide locally. The flavor of the sauce is excellent, it has the perfect amount of cheese and the crust is cooked perfectly. 1 Greek salad- standard, good 1 Portabella, chicken asparagus salad- This is my favorite salad. The portion is pretty big and can be shared easily. It comes with a lot of grilled portabella, chicken, asparagus, fresh mozzarella and caramelized onion over greens and tomatoes. The dressing is a classic creamy balsamic. **Didn't take pictures because everyone had already started eating by the time I got there.**

My wife and I wanted to take some very good friends of ours out to dinner. We found out they have never been to Umbertos of New Hyde Park, so we decided to go there. We couldn't have picked a better place. The restaurant, itself, is beautifully designed but very welcoming and casual. They offer a wide variety of authentic Italian dishes from appetizers to salads and the entrées. Most styles of dishes offer choice of chicken or veal. In addition, there is a wide variety of freshly made pasta dishes. And portions are generous! Everything we had was delicious. In fact, the couple that we went with love shrimp scampi and both remarked that the scampi there was some of the best they have ever eaten! Can't say enough about the staff. Everyone, from the hostess to the wait staff were friendly and accommodating. A big thank you to Juan Carlos, the bartender. He was fantastic, offered great recommendations off the menu and really made us feel at home. If you're looking for a great meal and relaxing atmosphere, Umbertos of New Hyde Park is the place to go.

I've been to Umberto's before while doing Uber deliveries, and it seemed like a nice place with good food and great service. Today was my first visit with my wife because we were craving brick oven pizza. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, and as I looked around, I noticed there was no visible brick oven. I started to wonder if they actually had the kind of pizza oven I wanted. Despite my doubts, I ordered the margherita brick oven pizza, and it was delicious. The service was excellent too; they were very attentive and kept refilling our water glasses, which I appreciated. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that there wasn't a true brick oven here. Towards the end of our meal, after paying the bill, I asked to speak to the manager. I explained my concern about the absence of a brick oven. The manager confirmed that while they don't use a traditional wood-fired brick oven, they do have a specially made oven with a brick base where the pizzas are cooked. He showed me how it works and acknowledged that it might not meet everyone's definition of a brick oven. Despite this discrepancy, I still enjoyed the experience. The food was great, service was attentive, and the restaurant offers ample parking and a nice outdoor dining area. I would consider coming back, but just be aware that they don't use a traditional wood-fired or fire brick oven, which might matter to some pizza enthusiasts like myself I'm not giving this place a 5-star rating because they don't have an actual brick oven. Apart from that, everything else was great.

Umberto's pizzeria has been a Staple since 1965 and it is the home of the Grandma slice, which I did not try but will on my next trip. The regular slice was almost perfect and much better than your average Long Island pizzeria. The buffalo chicken slice was a very heavy slice in weight and also taste. The chicken was not very spicy, but it was good. I don't think I would try it again and this Sicilian was very good. I highly recommend this pizza joint for any pizza lover out there.

Haven't been here in years. We made a reservation for a very large group of 14 and when we arrived they couldn't seat us for like 30 minutes because they wanted to seat us in two different tables. I wish they would have mentioned something when we made the reservation. In the end we sat at two adjacent tables on the first floor. The food is always delicious. I ordered the chicken Sorrentino and boy was that tasty.
